The IQRA book fair is an annual educational event organized by IUM. The main objectives are to encourage and sustain a reading culture by disseminating information about books, journals, and audiovisual materials from of various disciplines’ and to make these easily available under one platform.
The materials in the fair is sold at a fair price by different exhibitors. The fair also provides opportunities for visitors of all age categories to take part in different educational activities via audio and video sessions designed to promote and sustain a reading culture. It also provides a platform for individuals and parties interested in donating books and other items free of charge for the public.
The first IUM IQRA’ Book Fair, organized by the Islamic University of Maldives was held in 2018. IUM is planning to hold the next event this year in November on an online or virtual platform due to Covid-19.

To disseminate information by providing books, journals and audiovisual materials and to make these easily available under one online platform for a fair prize for different vendors (in accordance with the guidelines of the book fair) such as Writers, Publishers, Institutions, Companies, Bookshops, etc. to sell their products.
To enhance and support research, and to enrich information, particularly for students and teachers/lecturers by providing materials in different formats.
To provide opportunities for book fair visitors of all age categories to take part in different education activities via audio and video sessions thereby promote and sustain a reading culture.
To facilitate all interested individuals and parties who would like to donate books, magazines and other items free of charge for the public.
