An opportunity for the public to participate
Facilitator : Dr. Ruwan Gamage | Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Arts, Maldives National University
Dr. Ruwan obtained his PhD from Wuhan University, PR China in 2008. He has served as the
President of the Sri Lanka Library Association, and the Chair of the South Asia Chapter of the
Association for Information Science and Technology. He has won various national and
international awards including the ILIG CILIP International award for making a difference in
libraries and information centers outside UK in 2009. His research interests are bibliographic
control, knowledge organization, information literacy, and social informatics.
The IQRA book fair is an annual educational event organized by IUM. The main objectives are to encourage and sustain a reading culture by disseminating information about books, journals, and audiovisual materials from of various disciplines’ and to make these easily available under one platform.
